Which preferences from the main preferences UI (excluding Advanced) are almost never changed (across a large set of users). This would help pinpoint prefs that should be relegated from the UI and left in about:config only.

How many people have anti-phising enabled using Google?

Default fonts and sizes used. This would be very useful, as a lot of bugs are caused by people having certain fonts installed, or by having larger than normal fonts.

    Just a few suggestions.

The Firefox Metrics Project is an important project, for the users and for Fx, though as made aware long ago, there needs to be more focus on the users and providing more metric information to them.

I’m going to answer for this particular user.

    - Size of bookmark collection?
Don’t know about my teammate but for me 7000+ when I last counted.

    - Do users even use bookmarks?
    Yes.

    - What search engines have they added in the search bar?
    Google

    - Do they use the search area?
Just use a tab, locked and protected.

    - How many unique sites does one surf to?
A lot. Hopefully, the project will create a tool so users may track the # of sites per day/month/years.

    - How often do they frequent the same site?
Google mostly for that split second of search.

    - Do the sites they visit utilize Javascript?
Appears like always since NoScript is constantly in the red.

    - How do people navigate to pages?
    internal/external links, back button, bookmarks

    - How many extensions do they have installed?
20+, lowered to 10+ for simplicity, improve speed, less is more, etc.

    - How often does one clear cookies?
Does by default every time it closes, but I don’t think it has many cookies in the first place.

    - How often does one download files?
    Sporadically.

    - What kind of technologies do the sites they visit use (Flash/JS/.NET)
    I like to know too.

    - Do users always start by surfing to an initial 10 pages and then branch out?
    No.

    - How many tabs does one open?
35-60 at any given time; I try for less since it seems to slow performance. 3 rows, which extends.

    - Do user modify the default configuration, in what way?
    Yes, couple of ways.

    - How many sites are secure/insecure?
    Most insecure, unless doing banking.

    - How man windows does one open?
    1.

    - Resolution/Size
1280 x 960. 19 in. Note to self- must upgrade soon so can see more. F11 decreases functionality like back buttons and bookmarks.

    - Version
    Most recent.

    - Do they use RSS?
    No.

    - What theme do they use?
    Default is clean and works.

    1st comment:
How many people have anti-phising enabled using Google?
No. No need. I never had that problem (from what I’m aware of..)

    * How many bookmark folders (and subfolders)?
26 folders, used to be 35+ but merged some folders for easier access. Countless subfolders.

    * What plugins do they have installed?
    A few.

    * Do they use “Clear Private Data”? Through prefs? Menu item? How often do they use it?
No. Fx is like a macro.

    * Do they use “Open all in tabs” for bookmarks?
The times I try to clear out bookmarks in a given subfolder.

    * How often do they use “Bookmark all tabs”?
    Never. Thank goodness!

    * Do they use the bookmarks menu?
Only for organize bookmarks. The menu takes up screen real estate for the most part. I wish there was a shortcut for the organize bookmark function.

    * Do they use the bookmarks sidebar?
    No.

    * Do they use the history sidebar?
    Rarely.

    * How often do they search bookmarks?
Never. I know were most things are.

    * How often do they view/use the Bookmark Organizer?
    Whenever I’m organizing…

    * How often do they search history?
Almost never. History is forgotten. The good parts are bookmarked and saved. Closed Tab List is amazingly useful, set to previous 30.

    * Do they use the RSS icon in the location bar?
    Oh, never noticed that.

    * Do they do searches using the location bar?
    Rarely.

    * How often do they type URLs into the location bar?
    Often enough.

    * How often do they use the history drop list in the location bar?
    Never.

    * How many bookmarks do they have in their bookmarks toolbar folder?
It’s not called “bookmarks toolbar folder” anymore. Answered above.

    * What size do they have the browser window set to?
    Max.

    * Do they use the browser maximized?
    Yes..

    * Have they customized the toolbar? What have they added/removed?
You should respect the users’ privacy.

    * Have they changed anything using the about:config page? What have they added/changed?
Yes. And none of your business.

    * How often do they use “Find in Page”? How do they access it?
    Ctrl+F

    * How often do they use the “Go” button?
Nobody uses that. You press “enter.” Button is removed.

    * What preferences have they changed from default?
Are you trying to turn Fx into a spy? If so, we will settle for Opera.

Interesting you bring this up. Me and my mates often times argue as to which is better, Firefox or Ie. cleary they’re idiots because Firefox is king of web browsers.
