about:stats

Conversing with Dave about how we could kick things off, he mentioned that we might want to get something like about:config going, but modified to handle stats information. I think its a pretty cool way to get things rolling, just type in about:stats and bang! you got your session stats in an easy to read layout, similar to about:config.

I’ll let the mock-up do the explaining.

concept

As you can see session data like number of tabs open, unique URL’s visted, etc would be displayed, along with anything else
we might find useful. This could display session info by day, month, and year.

This sounds like a great start. I just wanted to mention that you _will_ get requests to do automatic graph generation. Be careful.

Every attempt at performance information collection I have seen in any organization had, as one of its parts, an effort to construct a new graphic toolkit. Often this ends up taking over the whole project and nothing gets done. So, watch out for this trap.

I would encourage you to put automatic graphing in your plans and then just leave it there for a while. It gives you something to say to the people making this request.
